Vincent Price and the Magic of Purrfect Timing
Picture it: Crimson Cat Studios, 2025.
I had just finished a dog’s portrait session and walked them out when the phone rang. If it had been two minutes earlier, I wouldn’t have answered.
On the line was TJ, asking if I could come photograph his cat, Vincent, who was nearing the end of his life. It was last-minute, but he had a clear vision:
“You know those 80s-style portraits with a floating head in the corner?”
This Gen Xer knew exactly what he meant.
Thanks to a rescheduled session earlier that day, I could say the words that meant everything:
“I can be there this afternoon.”
TJ ran to grab some Halloween props because, of course, his cat’s full name was Vincent Price — a long-haired black cat with flair for the dramatic. The vision? Cheesy 80s family portraits and spooky Halloween vibes.
And honestly — no judgment here. Cheesy, spooky, sentimental, however you want to remember your pet — it’s my honor to make that vision real.
✨ Today, October 27, is both National Black Cat Day 🖤 and the day many believe our pets return home for Día de los Muertos.
How perfect is that?
Here’s to Vincent — dramatic, loved, and perfectly timed. 🌈🐈⬛
