Dog Photography Sessions in Denver
September 25 & 26, 5-7pm
In 20 minutes, we'll turn your dog into a fully blackened, gorgeously dramatic silhouette against a Colorado sunset.
A Silhouette Session captures the bond between you and your dog as dramatic, timeless art against a vibrant sunset. Your dog’s unmistakable shape does all the talking, giving you stunning imagery set against a dreamy Colorado sky. Unlike a standard snapshot, a well framed silhouette captures the emotional essence of your pet in a style you can't get any other way.
These sessions are different in that there's no flash, no posing, no me trying to get your dog to look at the camera. Sessions start with sniff time - your dog gets to settle in before anything happens - and from there, it's just you and your dog, doing your thing. I'm watching for the moment, not manufacturing it.
Why now? This is the time of year where the sun is in a perfect place and at just the right angle for this type of artistic photography. And once the leaves are down and the days become shorter, the opportunities to capture beautiful outdoor portraits become fewer.
These sessions are Limited Editions because nature does what nature does - I only offer 6 of these, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
One small thing: these sessions are built for up to two dogs and 2 humans from the same household. Got a bigger crew? A standard session is going to serve you (and me, and my ability to herd more than two dogs in a short time) much better. Just reach out and we'll figure out the right fit.
Products and Pricing
Crimson Cat Studios makes the kind of artwork you don't tuck away in a drawer - it goes on the wall, gets walked past a hundred times, and somehow still makes you stop and look. That's the whole point.
Your $695 session fee includes a 20 minute photo session at Heritage Belmar Park,
10-15 photos to choose from, and an 11×14 Canvas Wrap of that single favorite photo that speaks to you most — no frame needed, it's ready to hang the second you get it home. H
Honestly? That's a complete, beautiful place to stop if that's all you want. But most Silhouette Sunset Session clients end up investing around $1,500 - some more, some less, adding wall art in other sizes, an album, or one of the boutique add-ons that only show up during these sessions.
Whatever you add beyond the session fee is completely up to you. You're never buying anything you don't already love.

Meet Your Pet Photographer, Susie Inverso!
One of my favorite classes in school (next to music and art) was my Earth Sciences class in college. I learned all about why weather does what it does, and why & how the seasons exist. This planet is so fascinating, and always changing. So I understand why autumn is so special, and why that low, golden light hits different this time of year. It's not just pretty, it's physics. I know when the sun's going to hit that sweet spot at Belmar Park, and I plan your session around it, not the other way around.
But knowing the light is only half the job. I get pet-people. I get the lingo, and the cat fur as an accidental accessory. I get that dogs won’t listen - no matter how much you practiced your sits and stays - when in the presence of a new person to impress. I get that cat personalities can vary wildly between wanting all the attention and wanting to hide, and I get that the occasional dog will pee in the studio.
Twenty years of shooting weddings and portraits taught me how to read light and read a moment as it happens, so I can work with whatever your dog gives me instead of trying to control it.

Your session fee includes your 20-minute photography session and an 11x14 canvas wrap, which is a frameless wall art piece ready to hang the moment it arrives. An ordering appointment follows your session, where you'll finalize the design of your canvas wrap. If you'd like to add wall art in additional sizes or finishes, an album, boutique add-ons, or digital files, that's where it happens. One digital file is included, which corresponds to the photo chosen for your 11×14 Canvas Wrap print.

There's no minimum spend beyond your $695 session fee—your 11x14 canvas wrap is already included. If you'd like to add more, additional products start at $400. Most Silhouette Sunset Session clients invest around $1,500 total, adding wall art, a beautiful Bamboo folio box, or boutique add-ons. Every piece is handcrafted using museum-grade materials, built to last, and chosen because it's genuinely worth having.

We do not need a perfect sky to get the perfect shot. Often, the camera sees what we don’t - it’s magical that way - and photographic software can pull a gorgeous sky from what looks to us as grey or dull. Rest assured there will be NO AI USED. But maybe a little software magic.
If it rains, we will offer either a refund or a reschedule within the following week. -
Your session fee is due in full at booking since that's what reserves your spot. For additional product purchases, interest-free payment plans are available and can be set up during your ordering appointment, managed easily through your private client portal.

Every ordered product includes its matching digital file, so you'll always have something to share. For smaller prints, a 5×5 pocket album is the way to go; it includes up to ten photos and is designed exclusively for these sessions. Individual small prints aren't offered outside of that.

Silhouette Sunset Sessions are shorter and faster-paced than a standard session, held at a location where other dogs and wildlife interactions (bunnies, geese) are likely. If your dog needs extra time to settle in or a more controlled environment, a standard session is probably a better fit, and I'm happy to help you figure out which one makes the most sense.
