FAQs

  • You are more than welcome to be in the photos with your pets! In fact, we’ll chat about that on our Discovery Call to make sure you know what to wear and what to expect. Any family members are welcome to be at and participate in the photo shoot, as long as the focus is on the pets.
    Similar questions we get:
Q - Do you do weddings? A: Not anymore.
Q - What about head shots? A: Not of humans.
Q - What about babies? A: Baby dogs, and kitties, yes. Baby humans, no.

  • We are an equal opportunity Pet Photography Studio! Birds, reptiles, small mammals, they are all important members of our families! We like to keep the EPIC Outdoor sessions to animals that can be leashed - dogs and cats - but the studio is the perfect place for non-adventurous cats and small animals.

  • Rarely is any animal perfectly trained, we work with pets of all behaviors and personalities. Past clients report being surprised at how amazing their photos turned out when they thought for sure their pet didn’t sit still enough. We need less than a second to get a great shot. And “bribing” your pet for sits and stays is our specialty.
Our cat-friendly studio has portable hiding spaces, so your feline will feel good hiding in a box placed strategically in front of the camera. Catnip sprays, treats, and calming diffusers help your purrer’s comfort.

  • The photo session itself usually lasts around an hour. It can vary, depending on the personality of the animal - we let them dictate the length of the session. When they are done, we are done, so it might be 45 minutes. Or if they are having too much fun, it might be 90 minutes!
The weather can play a factor in the EPIC Outdoor sessions. We schedule those sessions to begin about an hour before sunset to make sure we have ample time.
The Artwork Consultation, where we choose your favorites and build you stunning artwork, usually takes about 30-60 minutes.
If you are scheduling a LEGACY In-Studio session, we plan to have you back in the studio that day, so plan for an hour for the session, an hour to take the models home, and an hour for the Artwork Consultation.
For the EPIC Outdoor sessions, plan to have the shoot on one evening and the Artwork Consultation the next evening.

  • When I first started the studio, back in 2010 capturing weddings and families and babies (and dogs as much as I could) I was looking for advice on a name. Someone said pick an adjective, a noun, and some kind of alliteration. Crimson Cat Studios came from that advice.
